Saudi, UAE ambassadors, Bahraini Charge d' Affaires meet with Turkish Foreign Minister

Ankara, June 12 (BNA): The ambassadors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE and Charge d’ Affaires of the Bahraini embassy to Turkey met today with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. They briefed him on the steps taken by the three countries on cutting off diplomatic ties with Qatar in light of their commitment to fighting terrorism and drying up its funding sources as well as combating extremism and its promotional tools. They pointed out violations of the authorities in Doha of the agreements signed which consist in pledging to harbour no persons or organisations threatening countries’ security. They also pointed out the persistent ignorance of the authorities in Doha of the calls demanding them to honour the agreement signed in Riyadh in 2013 and its executive mechanism and the complementary agreement of 2014. They revealed that this ignorace put the national security of the three countries at risk due to the subversive acts carried out by terrorist individuals and organisations based in Qatar or supported by it. The three diplomats underlined their countries’ resolve to confront those attempts and deter plots targeting their national security and stability. They also emphasised to the Turkish Foreign Minister their countries’ keenness on the interest of the Qatari people who are a natural extension of their brethren in the GCC countries and part of their social texture. The ambassador listened to a briefing by the Turkish Foreign Minister of the Turkish government’s assessment of the situation and the efforts made to solve the crisis.
