SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON MONGOLIA TAKES PLACE IN WARSAW

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 06-09, the second international scientific conference with theme 'Mongolia and Mongolians: the past-current situation' was held at University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland. The scientific conference was opened with the remarks by Mongolian Ambassador to Poland N.Bataa, Secretary of the Fund for Promoting Mongolian Studies D.Zayabaatar and Chairman of International Association of Mongolian Studies Agnesh Birtalan. Honorary guest Mongolist, professor D.Tumurtogoo made the first presentation. During the three-day conference, many interesting presentations will be given on Mongolia's culture, history, religious and linguistic issues. A photo exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the professor, renowned Mongolist of Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of Polish Academy of Sciences, Slavoi Shinkivech opened within the scientific conference. The exhibition displayed photos taken by professor Slavoi Shinkivech during his studies in Mongolia in 1970's. The conference was co-organized by Department of Turkey and Asian studies of Oriental Institute, the Embassy of Mongolia in Warsaw, Asia and Pacific Museum, Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Mongolia, International Association of Mongolian Studies and Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of Polish Academy of Sciences.
