Second session of 14th Sharjah Children Council begins tomorrow

SHARJAH, 1st September 2016 (WAM) -- Children in Sharjah will receive a valuable introduction to the responsibilities of leadership at the second session of the 14th Sharjah Children Council, SCC, which commences tomorrow at the Ruler's Court in Sharjah. Organised by the Sharjah Children Centres, a subsidiary of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, the session will include the attendance of 69 young members of the SCC. Taking place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the meeting will focus on the best ways of placing young people into positions of influence. Reem BinKaram, Director of the Sharjah Children Centres, said, "Sharjah Children Council stems from our desire to nurture children as leaders, forward-thinkers and innovators by placing them in decision making, consultative and creative seats. This session will enable children to interact with each other on a number of intellectual topics and do so in a mature manner. "Discourse that enables young people to put their views forward while respecting the opinions of others is what is at the core of a healthy society.
