"The event is also attended by representatives from a number of the conference participants," Abdurrahman Mochammad Fachir, the directorate general of information and public diplomacy of the ministry of foreign affairs, said. He said the seven Palestinians are participants of a human resource empowerment program held by the foreign ministry. "Indonesia has a training program for 1,000 Palestinian youths on economy, education, infrastructure, administration and others," he said. Fachir said the commemoration of the AA Conference was one of the ways to maintain the spirit of the Bandung Declaration to release the world from any kind of oppression, create peace and improve the welfare of the people in the world. He said it was hoped the commemoration would also help spur the world`s recognition of the Palestinian state. He said Indonesia will always commit itself to promoting Palestinian independence in international forums in addition to helping improve the quality of Palestinian human resources.
