Shaikh Khalid thanked for patronising league

Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities was thanked by Jassim Rashdan, the President of Al Hala Sports Club for his generous patronage of the Bahraini youth and sports activities and events. Rashdan attended part of the matches of the Fifth Edition of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5), organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa at Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting and as part of the initiative of His Highness. Rashdan praised the initiatives of His Highness and the noble goals of embracing the youth of Bahrain and strengthen the social bonds between them. He expressed his appreciation to His Highness for providing the perfect environment for the Bahraini youth and athletes to compete and improve their talents and skills. Rashdan said that Khalid 5 is an opportunity for the national team and clubs to discover new talents, embrace them and develop their talents. Rashdan also commended on the efforts paid by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to support people with disabilities and engage them in social and sports events, which will reflect positively on them and the entire society. 14th Day matches The matches of the 14th day of Khalid 5 began at 5pm when Jidhafs Youth Centre defeated Karranah Youth Centre by 5-2. South Sehla Youth Centre won Al Qadisiya Youth Centre by 3-0 in the fifth group matches. The following match was held within the fourth group. Al Dair Club was able to win Al Wusta Youth Centre by a scoe of 3-1, while Aali and Sanad played to a 3-3 draw in the final match of the day. Four matches will be held within the seventh and eighth groups on Tuesday. The matches will be between Saar Club and Al Junoob Youth Centre, Al Maameer Club and Al Hamala Youth Centre, Buquwa Youth Centre and Al Eker Club, and the final match will be between Safrah Youth Centre and Karzakkan Youth Centre. The organising committee honoured the best players in the four matches of the day. The honoured players were Jidahfs's Ali Al Alwani, South Sehla's Sayed Alawi, Al Dair Club's goalkeeper Sayed Mohammed and Aali's Ali Mansoor. The organising committee and Karranah and Jidhafs players congratulated the National Volleyball Youth Team for winning the Arabian Championship held in Jordan last week. The players lifted banners befre the beginning of their match, congratulating the volleyball youth team. The Supreme Organising Committee of Khalid 5, represented by the Head of the Media Committee Hazim Al-Shaikh has provided a comprehensive media centre for journalists who are covering the matches of the league. Al-Shaikh affirmed that the centre comes within the efforts to highlight the events of Khalid 5 in local and regional media.
