Shura chairman congratulates UAE's FNC speaker

Manama, Feb. 8 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh has congratulated the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), Amal Abdulla Al-Qubaisi, on her election as Chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)’s High-level Consultative Group to Counter Terrorism and Extremism. The achievement is in recognition of the distinguished status and reputation the UAE enjoys thanks to its influential role, pacifist approach, success of its official and parliamentary diplomacy, and its friendship relations with various countries, peoples and parliaments. In his cable, Al-Saleh also asserted that the exploit proves the success of the UAE’s effective efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, as well as its respect for international conventions and the essential principles of international cooperation. Dr. Al-Qubaisi’s election is a global recognition of the UAE’s advanced strides in strengthening the anti-terror principles at the local and global levels, he said.
