Shura Council condemns terrorist plot targeting Holy Mosque

Manama, June 24 (BNA): The Shura Council has denounced and deplored the attempt made by a group of terrorists to target the Holy Grand Mosque in Mekkah in a bid to intimidate worshippers there. In a statement, the council condemned the “desperate” attempts to subvert Saudi Arabia’s security and stability, lauding the vigilance of the Saudi security authorities, and their dedicated efforts to ensure the security for all worshippers. Such terrorist acts, which contravene all human values and the teachings of divine religions, will not impede the development and progress strides made by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abulaziz Al Saud, as well as its efforts to ensure comfort for the visitors of holy mosques in Mekkah and Medina, the statement said. The council reiterated Bahrain’s full-fledged support to Saudi Arabia and backing of all measures it deems necessary to ensure its security and stability, and combat terrorism which is posing a threat to the security and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect GCC countries, and safeguard them against evil.
