Singapore Adds 7-Day Testing Regime for Newly-Arrived CMP Foreign Workers

SINGAPORE, Feb 3 (Bernama) -- Singapore will impose an additional seven-day testing regime to all newly arrived workers in the construction, marine and process (CMP) sectors from higher-risk countries or regions after completing their 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) from Feb 5. The republic’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said the new requirement, which will apply to Work Permit and S Pass holders, is aimed to further reduce the risk of transmission from newly arrived migrant workers into the workplace. It will also apply to those with In-Principle Approval (IPA) letters, it said in a statement Wednesday. To be served at a designated facility, MOM said the new requirement will also apply to workers who have yet to complete their 14-Day SHN on Feb 5. According to MOM, this requirement has been in place for newly arrived CMP foreign workers living in dormitories since Jan 6. -- BERNAMA
