Small bomb slightly wounds two street cleaners
BANGKOK, June 16 (TNA) – Two street sweepers were slightly wounded when a small bomb exploded on Sukhumvit 40 in front of the UNESCO’s Bangkok office this afternoon.
It is initially presumed to be a homemade bomb and the two injured workers of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) were sent to hospital.
One woman found the bag hidden in a shrub while she was cleaning the pavement. She opened the bag and the bomb exploded.
BMA Deputy Governor Chakraphan Phewngam said the BMA ordered its workers, responsible for cleaning the street, collecting garbage in public places such as parks not to open suspicious objects but they were told to inform the police to inspect the objects immediately for their own safety.
The police are investigating who left the bag and where the bag came from. (TNA)
