'Sports spirit, adhering to regulations foundation of Nasser 10 success'

Manama, May 20 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, confirmed that his 3rd Edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Game "Nasser 10" be quite different this year than that of previous years. The event began ten years ago as a football tournament but turned into a full sports festival three years ago, featuring a line-up of major sports, including team sports and individual games. And HH Shaikh Nasser revealed in a statement that the tournament would be brought out in a unique manner to mark its 10the anniversary in a stunning style. HH Shaikh Nasser conveyed a message to all the coaches, players, technical staff involved in Nasser 10, stressing the importance of not compromising sports spirit during the tournament's events. HH Shaikh Nasser pointed out that the teams must participate in the football competition in a way that meets the aspirations of seeing the tournament features incredible performances. Furthermore, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his wishes for success for all the 16 teams participating in the championship which will kick off today (Sunday) and will continue during the holy month of Ramadan. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed the need to adhere to the rules and regulations governing the championship as this will contribute to creating an ideal sports atmosphere. HH Shaikh Nasser concluded the statement by encouraging fans to attend and enjoy the event. Beginning Nasser 10 Football Tournament will be inaugurated today at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium with two games, beginning with the match between Majestic Cars and Jurnas at 6:15pm, followed by the game between title holders Victorious and Suqoor Al Bahrain at 8:30pm. The four teams are in Group 1. Led by HH Shaikh Nasser, Victorious are tipped the favourites to win back-to-back titles and, undoubtedly, want to have a smooth start to their campaign. The team is being coached by Bahraini national coach Ali Jowhar, while their competitor Suqoor Al Bahrain is being trained by Bahraini national coach Mohammed Sa'ad Khalifa. The other two teams, Majestic Cars and Jurnas are also being coached by Bahraini coaches. And they booth seek a positive opening to the tournament, as three points in this match mean having a spot in the second round is within the winners' grasp. Winners Elsewhere in Nasser 10, Hawar team was crowned champions of the Beach Volleyball Championship. The team consisted of Mohammed Yaqoub and Ali Marhoon who defeated Manama Team in the final match. The latter composed of Hassan Aqeel and Ali Haroona. The event was witnessed by the International Volleyball Federation representative Mr Ramon Cisar. It's worth noting that Awali team won third place in the Championship. "From day one we sought to win the Championship, and we are happy for our achievement," said Hawar players, Mohammed Yaqoub and Ali Marhoon after receiving their medals."We played a great match. Unfortunately, Haroona got injured and was unable to continue. We wish him a smooth recovery," they added.
