Strive For Goodness For A Harmonious Society- M'sian Dpm

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the harmony that Malaysians enjoy now is a result of continuous efforts from various quarters towards goodness. Therefore, he said this culture should be widened, especially in today's increasingly complex community. "With our complex community and the emergence of signs that stray people from their religious obligations, it is necessary for us to spread the 'al-amr bil ma'ruf' and 'al-nahyu anil-munkar' culture, which calls for our society to encourage goodness and avoid disobedience. "I'm confident that with continuous efforts towards goodness and guidance we will produce a society that is harmonious, morally sound and noble," he said in his message for Eid al-Adha which will be celebrated Sunday. Muhyiddin said Muslims will be highly regarded should they unite among themselves and advise one another to heed religious obligations and stay away from the forbidden. In conjunction with the eid, Muhyiddin told Muslims to remember the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim, Prophet Muhammad and other ulamas who have helped to spread Islam throughout the world. He said Muslims should strive to strengthen and increase their faith towards Allah as well as do what is required in Islam and avoid the forbidden. Muhyiddin, in his message, also wished a blessed Eid al-Adha to Malaysians and Muslims celebrating it worldwide. -- BERNAMA
