Summer storms hit many provinces

CHAI NA, March 19 (TNA) - Summer storms have hit many provinces, uprooting trees and electricity poles while villagers there were badly affected, officials said. Villagers living in three districts of Chai Nat province were hit by tropical storm on Friday and Saturday. More than 50 houses were damaged while many trees and electricity poles were knocked down. Provincial authorities were dispatched to assist the affected villagers while electricity has been fixed and been supplying to the villagers normally since early Sunday. Meanwhile, some 1,240 households in Sakon Nakhon’s Sawang Daen Din district have been affected by a summer storm and at least 15 electricity posts collapsed.Basic necessities were initially given to 50 villagers while officials also instructed them to stay on alert for possible more storms in the near future.
