Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs condemns Qatif terror blast

Manama, May 22 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has condemned the terror blast which targeted worshippers in the "Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb" Mosque in the Qatif governorate in Saudi Arabia, and killed dozens innocent Muslims. In a statement issued today, the SCIA said the terror explosion is a heinous crime that contravenes all divine religions, as well as human values and moral principles. The SCIA added that the brutal crime lays bare the ugly nature of terrorism which belongs to no religion. The council expressed confidence in the ability of Saudi Arabia to counter evil attempts to spread sedition and chaos among Muslims, calling on scholars to assume their role in rejecting extremism, terrorism and sectarianism. The SCIA extended sincere condolences to Saudi leadership and the families of the victims, praying to Allah Almighty to grant the wounded speedy recovery, safeguard Muslim countries against sedition and conflicts and bless them with lasting security and stability.
