Survey shows 53% household worry on cost of living, debts, income

BANGKOK, Aug 13 (TNA) -- A survey, conducted by Kasikorn Research Centre (KRC), shows that 53 per cent of total households are worried on rising cost of living in Thailand, debts and income. Although inflation is still not high, respondents in the survey said income of the household did not increased while some said their income had in fact decreased. KRC said 53 per cent of total households were worried about the cost of living, debts and income problems during the second half of 2017. The survey found that households with monthly income not exceeding 15,000 baht are worried more on income than debts. This is opposite to families earning more than 15,000 baht monthly. It also showed that those engaged in unsecured jobs worry more about income and employment . Unlike those employed in more secured jobs such as civil servant or running own business, they are more worried on debt than income and job, KRC said. (TNA)
