Thai handicrafts to go in the light at OTOP CITY 2012

BANGKOK, December 6 (TNA) - Thailand’s globally-renowned handicraft products will go bunting in an extra limelight at the upcoming OTOP CITY 2012 Expo, themed “One Decade, One Tambon, One Product in Honour of His Majesty the King”, set to be held at the IMPACT Trade and Exhibition Centre, Challenger Halls, in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok from December 15-23. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na Ranong said on Thursday that during the eight-day event, aimed to promote Thailand's community-based products, international visitors can enjoy an array of Thai handicraft products on retail and on public display in an exhibition. According to the deputy premier, there will also be a business matching event and industry forums on the future of Thailand's OTOP program, as well as patents and export markets of the locally-made goods.
