Thai PM delivers speech at 1st ICBOS

BANGKOK, August 16 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha is paying a one-day visit to Malaysia on August 16 to attend the 1st International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy (ICBOS), set to be held in Putrajaya during August 16-18. Accompanied by Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai, Prime Minister General Prayut left for Putrajaya on Tuesday morning and he is scheduled to then deliver a speech at the 1st ICBOS. The Thai prime minister's speech was set to focus on his government's policies in line with ICBOS targets, covering his vision on sustaining national development through the innovation-oriented Thailand 4.0 policy. Updated reports said that while delivering a speech at the inauguration of the 1st ICBOS, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who initiated ICBO, stressed on focal points of ICBOS as a platform for constructive cooperation among participating countries amid highly competition in global trade and investment through new styles of creative businesses, new innovations and the promotion and capacity building of small-scaled businesses. On the occasion, the Thai prime minister would also exchange ideas and visions with leaders of other participating countries and discuss approaches on creating peace and order in the violence-plagued Thai Far South. Other participating countries in the 1st ICBOS, themed "Transforming Nations Through Creativity and Innovation", include Cambodia, Fiji, Malaysia, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, Thailand and Timor–Leste. The Thai prime minister is scheduled to retutn to Bangkok onTuesday afternoon. (TNA)
