Thai PM holds rehearsal ceremony for HM King’s birthday

BANGKOK, December 2 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Sunday led a rehearsal ceremony to pledge allegiance and present congratulations to His Majesty the King, whose 85th birthday falls this Wednesday. Joining the Thai leader early Sunday in an assembly in front of the Ananda Samakom Throne Hall were cabinet ministers, the parliamentary president, senate speaker, military chiefs and public. According to police, three main roads near the vicinity had been closed for the event. Meanwhile, a new survey by ABAC Poll showed Thailand’s Gross National Happiness index or GNP rose to a score of 7.53 out 10 from 7.40 points in October. The highest contributing factor came from satisfaction with the Royal institution, followed by family relationship and economic conditions. (TNA)
