Thai students collect 2 golds and 3 silvers from physics Olympiad

BANGKOK, July 24 (TNA) -- Thai secondary school students earned 2 gold medals and three silvers from the International Physics Olympiad in Indonesia. Pornpun Waitayangkoon, president of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), said the academic competition occurred in Yogyakarta on July 16-24. Tisanaporn Moongmeeprit of Mahidol Wittayanusorn School and Natnicha Merin of Triamudomsuksa School won gold medals. Athikhom Wanichakul, Patin Inkaew and Sirapop Klinkajorn of Triamudomsuksa School collected silvers. Ms Pornpun also said that all students representing Thailand in academic Olympiad received government scholarships to pursue up to doctoral degrees. Thai students participating in the physics Olympiad were set to arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport at 10.25pm on July 24. (TNA)
