Thai students win gold at World Robot contest

BANGKOK, November 11 (TNA) - Two students from Thailand’s Chiang Mai University won gold at the World Robot Olympiad 2012 competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday. Sa-ngapong Panyakaew and Wuthipong Thongpakdi were named winners in a category dedicated among college students. About 200 Thai students in 30 different teams have participated in the three-day challenge, which began Friday. This year’s event draws an array of automatic models, including Lego robots. Associate Professor Chakkrit Suthakorn of Thailand’s Mahidol University reckons the robotics industry is absolutely necessary for the world’s future, particularly for the service industry. (TNA)
