Thailand to become ASEAN hub for complicated diseases

BANGKOK, November 13 (TNA) - The government, through the Ministry of Public Health, is promoting Thailand to become a medical hub for the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), especially in complicated diseases. Public Health Minister Dr. Pradit Sintawanarong said in Bangkok on Tuesday, after opening a seminar on Thailand's nursing strategies 2013-2017 in which 750 head nurses from general and community hospitals from across the country participated as part of national preparations for the ASEAN Community (AC) by 2015, that his ministry plans to make Thailand to become an ASEAN medical centre, as the Kingdom has high expertise doctors, particularly in complicated diseases. Dr. Pradit acknowledged that the move should also help boost good reputation and confidence in Thailand regionally and internationally in the foreseeable future. (TNA)
