Thailand hosts 33rd ASEANAPOL
CHONBURI, THAILAND, February 18 (TNA) - Thailand hosts the 33rd ASEAN Chiefs of Police Conference (ASEANAPOL) in Pattaya eastern seaside Chonburi province from February 18-22, with regional cooperation on anti-transnational crime being top of the agenda.
National Police Chief Police General Adul Sangsingkaew told journalists on Monday that discussions at the five-day ASEANAPOL conference include regional cooperation against all kinds of transnational crime, namely drugs and human trafficking, arms smuggling, terrorism, maritime frauds and even cyber crime.
The regional forum brings together heads of the national police bureaus from member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and their counterparts from the 10-member bloc's five dialogue partners, including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, along with, the INTERPOL Secretariat, the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Police Force Secretary Office.
