Thailand's Map Ta Phut becomes industrial site model for Myanmar

RAYONG, THAILAND, November 8 (TNA) - Three Myanmar ministers visited the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Thailand's eastern Rayong province on Thursday for a study tour, as Myanmar is developing its Dawei Industrial Estate based on the Map Ta Phut model. The three Myanmar Cabinet members, including Industry Minister U Aye Myim, Transport Minister U Ham Sien and Energy Minister U Myo Aung, were welcome and received by Thai Deputy Transport Minister Prasert Chan-ruang-thong, together with Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand or IEAT Dr. Weerapong Chaiperm and Rayong Governor Wichit Chattapaisit. According to the Thai deputy transport minister, the development of Myanmar's Dawei deep seaport and related transport and logistics projects, once completed, will become a new economic gateway and a central trade and logistics links, connecting Southeast Asia with the rest of the world and supporting sustainable economic growth and development for Southeast Asia in the long run.
