Thief bombs ATM machine

BANGKOK, Sept 13 (TNA) -- A suspect blasted an automated teller machine in Saphan Sung district and made off with some cash. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team inspected the blast site and gathered evidence at the ATM machine at a car park of Tesco Lotus hypermarket in Soi Krungthep Kreetha 35. The explosion occurred around 3am. According to the initial investigation, a suspect was seen riding a motorcycle to the site before the bomb went off. He made off with some cash but the exact amount is still unknown. Officials said it was a remote-controlled bomb. Metropolitan Police Bureau Commissioner Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn ordered checks on CCTV footage to track down the suspect. (TNA)
