Three missing children reported daily in Thailand

BANGKOK, July 25 (TNA) - There are three children reportedly missing daily on average in Thailand, but most of them have been back home safely by themselves. The Mirror Foundation released a public report on the problem of missing children in the country on Tuesday, saying that there were 216 children reportedly missing nationwide during the first half of this year, 80 per cent of whom sneaked out of their homes by their own will and later returned home safely by themselves. The foundation stated that most of the reportedly missing youths during the January-June 2017 period were 13-18 years old and most cases, or 157 of them, are girls, three times higher than boys. The report indicated that most of the missing youths, three cases daily on average, were prompted by sexual reasons, followed by mis-led chats through social media networks and violence in households. According to the Bangkok-based foundation, the figure of missing youths during the first half of this year was comparable to that slated during the corresponding period of last year. (TNA)
