Tourism manual printed in 3 languages

BANGKOK, June 10 (TNA) -- Realising that revenue earned from tourism industry is hefty while many foreign tourists visiting Thailand still do not understand clearly what to do’s and don’ts while staying in the kingdom, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has printed manuals in three languages for the tourists, said Pongpanu Svetarundra, permanent secretary for the Ministry. The manual produced in Thai, English and Chinese languages will be distributed in 10 key tourist destinations in Thailand, Mr Pongpanu said. It will be distributed at Bangkok’s Chatuchak market, in the South at Ko Samui, Pa Tong Beach in Phuket, Phi Phi Island in Krabi and Khao Lak in Phang-nga. In the North, the book will be distributed at Chiang Mai’s Tha Pae Walking Street and in Lampang’s Kard Kong Ta Walking Street. The book will also be distributed at Pattaya and Ko Larn in Chon Buri province and at the market in Hua Hin resort. It will be handed to tourists at the walking street in the northeastern province of Buri Ram. Tourists encountering dangers or need assistance could lodge their complaints and seek help at the Tourist Assistance Centre in 15 provinces or call 02-1344077 round-the-clock. (TNA)
