Turkey reduced gas consumption in Jan.-May

Ismailov / In January-May 2013, the Turkish state pipeline company Botas imported 15.54 billion cubic meters of gas from a variety of sources, compared to 18.71 billion cubic meters in January-May 2012, according to a statement posted on the Botas official website. In 2012, Botas imported 43.09 billion cubic meters of gas from a variety of sources compared to more than 39.7 billion cubic meters in 2011. Turkey also imports gas from Azerbaijan, which is supplied via the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum). Also in January-May, Botas exported 227 million cubic meters of gas compared to 235 million cubic meters in January-May last year. Last year, the export performance of Botas reached 622 million cubic meters of gas versus 726 million cubic meters in 2011. In January-May 2013, some 16.45 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in the domestic market of Turkey compared to 18.47 billion cubic meters of gas in January-May last year. Some 41.44 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in the Turkish domestic market in 2012 compared to 39.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011. Do you have any feedback?
