LEFKOSA (A.A) - The president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Saturday that Turkish Cypriot executives were working for an acceptable agreement. Dervis Eroglu said he hoped to reach an agreement on Cyprus issue that could be accepted by Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey. "But, this is not something that can be achieved only by ourselves," Eroglu said as he met members of Turkish ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party. Also speaking in the meeting, AK Party deputy chairman and lawmaker Salih Kapusuz hoped stability would be maintained in Cyprus and talks would bear a positive result. Kapusuz called on the Greek Cypriot administration and the European Union (EU) to be sincere and honest and to keep their promises. Cyprus problem should be solved, Kapusuz said. Kapusuz said the Greek Cypriot administration and the EU would be responsible for settlement of Cyprus problem, and the United Nations (UN) would assume a responsibility in the upcoming period.
