Turkmenistan, Malaysia Keen To Boost Entrepreneurial Cooperation
TURKMENISTAN, MALAYSIA KEEN TO BOOST ENTREPRENEURIAL COOPERATION
PUTRAJAYA, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Turkmenistan and Malaysia are eyeing
entrepreneurial cooperation and the participation of joint investment projects
in future, said Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Wednesday.
"We negotiate the existing potential of close cooperation among the
entrepreneurs of the two countries. We are looking forward to the contributions
of Malaysian businesses to the development of our economy," he said at a joint
press conference with Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak, here Wednesday.
Earlier, Berdimuhamedov paid a courtesy call on Najib.
Both leaders had a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office.
Also present at the press conference were Foreign Minister Anifah
Aman, Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Mukhriz Mahathir
and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom.
Berdimuhamedov said the meeting with Najib Wednesday showed that both
countries were keen to explore investment opportunities, expand trade and
economiccooperation in various directions.
"The possibility for effective cooperation in implementing the joint
projects in energy, transportation, telecommunication, construction, oil and gas
processing, chemical industry, high-technology and tourism is great.
"The negotiation also noted positive experience of cooperation to increase
investment," he said.
He said Turkmenistan and Malaysia would work together in strengthening the
role of developing countries in the global politics.
"Both countries would contribute to the international community in fighting
terrorism, drug trafficking and organised crimes," he said.
Berdimuhamedov said the discussions on a wide range of issues and the
prospect of bilateral cooperation with Najib were effective and positive.
"We also discuss the important issues of regional and international politics
and define the concrete aspect of future collaboration.
"I am strongly convinced that the agreement signed during the visit would
give a strong impetus to further develop bilateral ties and the cooperation in
trade, economic, cultural, science and humanitarian and others," he said.
Earlier, Berdimuhamedov and Najib has witnessed the signing of two
agreements -- Joint Communique and Programme of Cooperation between the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan (represented by Rashid Meredov) and Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia (represented by Anifah) for 2012.
