Two million visitors throng Dubai's Global Village in 2011

Dubai, Jan 9, 2012 (WAM) - Global Village, member of TECOM Investments, achieved a new record by hosting two million visitors since its opening on 1st November to the end of December. This was the highest number of visitors that Global Village attracted, more than any entertainment project in the region with over 200 thousand visitors in some weekends. This record is added to Global Village's best achievements since its inception 16 years ago, confirming it will always meet the expectations of its audience. The Global Village parking accommodates a maximum of 16,000 cars sometimes fully occupied from 6:00 pm which has led Global Village administration to provide more buses to transport visitors to and from parking spaces to the gates in order to offer the best experience for all visitors. Furthermore, entertainment and arts performances brought from around the world are witnessing high turnouts from all visitors. The selling and buying movement also captured wide attention due to various products offered by more than 29 pavilions including 45 countries from around the world. Global Village is an ideal place for all nationalities, for both families and youth in the UAE to spend a joyful time, said a release. Global Village provided an array of spectacular events and shows including highly advanced technology, the Dancing Fountain show broadcasted on the online Global Village TV channel 24 hours a day. Global Tent is also another surprise this season accommodating over 600 people. Out of its keenness to provide more enjoyment options, Global Village increased Fun Fair's space area this year by 30% and added new games suited for all ages from 4 years of age and others attracted to adventures. Since the inauguration in 1997, Global Village has become the key entertainment and shopping destination in the region. It includes rich diverse cultures and civilisations and offers a diverse range of restaurants and shops from across the world.
