Two waterfalls in Phang nga closed
PHANG NGA, Aug 29 (TNA) – Two waterfalls in the southern province of Phangnga are closed due to raging forest run-off.
Mongkol Liewwiriyakul, head of the Khao Lampi – Hat Thai Mueang National Park said that the disaster warning centers reported the large amount of rainfall and forest run-off at Lampi waterfall and Ton Prai waterfall. The national park announced temporary closure of two waterfalls for the safety of tourists and have closely monitored the water situation.
Swimming ban has been applied to beaches from Takua Tung district to Kura Buri district. Red flag are placed along 100-km distance to warn tourists due to high waves and strong wind.
Heavy rain and strong wind felled trees onto houses in these two districts but no one was wounded in the incidents. (END)
