UAE's Zayed Giving Initiative intensifies medical aid for Sudan

KHARTOUM, 15th January, 2017 (WAM) -- The UAE’s Zayed Giving Initiative intensified efforts to provide medical services to needy children and elderly people in Sudan as part of the country’s global humanitarian initiative. An elite group of surgeons, cardiologists and other specialists and volunteers from the Saudi-German Hospital, Dar Al Ber Society, Arab Foundation for Humanitarian Work, Emirates Volunteers Association and others are carrying out the initiative in co-ordination with the Sudanese Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security. Thousands of underprivileged patients with chronic diseases were treated and tens others with congenital heart defects were diagnosed while hundreds of heart patients underwent surgeries, he said.
