Uganda's President visits Thailand

BANGKOK, November 15 (TNA) - Ugandan President Youveri Museveni has arrived in Thailand for a three-day official visit, scheduled for November 15-17, at an invitation of the Thai government. Accompanied by his spouse, Janet Kataaha Museveni, President Museveni was received by Thai Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasob Surasawadee and Energy Minister Pongsak Ratapongpaisarn, on behalf of the Thai government, upon their arrival in Bangkok on Thursday. The Ugandan President is scheduled to then hold bilateral talks with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on ways to enhance the two nations’ cordial ties in trade, investment and development, along with their discussions on regional cooperation. The visiting Ugandan top leader and Premier Yingluck were also set to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Thailand and Uganda. Before his departure on Saturday, the Ugandan President will attend a briefing on investment opportunities in Uganda, meet with business executives in the Thai private sector and visits to selected energy projects.
