UK Waits For Detail Of British National In AirAsia Incident

Jakarta, Dec 29 (Antara) - The British Embassy in Jakarta has been waiting for further details of its national who was listed in the missing AirAsia flight QZ 8501, a spokesperson said. "We have been informed by the local authorities that one British national was on board. The kin has been informed," said the British Embassy`s spokesperson, Faye Belnis here on Sunday. Belnis added the British government worked closely with the local authorities in Singapore who provides assistance to the family. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the passengers` families as they await further news," she said. Besides a British national, the foreigners on board consist of three South Koreans, a Singaporean, a Malaysian and a First Officer (FO) from France. The aircraft, taking off at 05.36 local time from Surabaya to Singapore and is expected to arrive at around 08.30 a.m reportedly missing. The plane has 155 passengers aboard, comprising 137 adults, 17 children, and one infant. There are also two pilots, four cabin crew members, and one technician. AirAsia has set up a hotline on 622129270811 to help families and relatives of the passengers receive latest updates.
