UniMAP Aims To Establish Partnership With University Of Otago

DUNEDIN (New Zealand), Feb 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia University of Perlis (UniMAP) aims to establish a partnership with the University of Otago, especially in academia and research.
The crown prince of Malaysian Northern State of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail (third from left), led the UniMAP delegation for basic discussions with the University of Otago, over a possibility of a collaboration here Friday.
The University of Otago was represented by its chancellor, John Ward (fifth from right), and senior officials, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and International Vernon Squire and Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Sarah Todd.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also UniMAP Chancellor, said the university would expand its collaboration with leading universities worldwide, in line with its internationalisation.
The crown prince was accompanied by Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is Pro-Chancellor of the university.
Accompanying Tuanku Syed Faizuddin was UniMAP Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin.
In the basic discussions with the University of Otaga leader, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said UniMAP wanted to become an "enterprising university", in line with an intention to create graduate output as a successful entrepreneur.
"We are making our graduates as privileged or exceptionally talented graduates, and be able to contribute excellence in all aspects of their lives," he added.
He also noted that the conducive ecosystem made UniMAP a special site for students and lecturers, locals and foreigners alike.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said UniMAP provided the perfect infrastructure for spiritual growth, knowledge, research, business, sports, arts and culture to enable the staff and students to excel in various fields.
Meanwhile, the UniMAP Student Representatives Council headed by president Aminuddin Anuar, held a separate programme-cum-meeting with University of Otago
