University Of Malaysia, Perlis (Unimap) And TFI Establish Academic Collaboration

TASHKENT, March 8 (Bernama) -- University of Malaysia,Perlis (UniMAP) and the Tashkent Financial Institute (TFI) today entered into an academic collaboration which indirectly helps to strengthen the close ties between Malaysia and Uzbekistan. The Crown Prince of Malaysia Northen State of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail represented UniMAP while TFI was represented by its rector, Prof Dr Vahabov Alisher Vasikovich at the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the collaboration. The collaboration will include the exchange of students and staff of both higher education institutions. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the chancellor of UniMAP, said the close cooperation in the field of education between both countries had grown with 700 Uzbek students currently studying in Malaysia, of whom, 60 were stydying in UniMAP. He said the MoU not only further enhanced collaboration between the two countries but would also contribute and further enhance people-to-people contacts and bilateral relations. Meanwhile, Dr Vahabov hoped that cooperation with UniMAP would help TFI enlarge the network of collaboration with higher education institutions around the world. He said, TFI would move in tandem with UniMAP that had emerged as one of the active institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. Also present were Malaysian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Abdul Aziz Harun, Arabic Course Advisor of University Malaya, Mahamud Abdul and medical lecturer of University of Putra, Malaysia (UPM) Dr Faisal Ibrahim. -- BERNAMA
