UTP, AOGU Kazakhstan Sign MoU To Expand Collaboration

IPOH (Perak, Malaysia) March 3 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) and Atyrau Oil and Gas University (AOGU) of Kazakhstan held a virtual signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and memorandum of agreement (MoA) to intensify activities in academic and research areas, as well as in faculty and student exchange. The signatories were AOGU chairman of the board and rector, Prof Dr. Gulzada Shakulikova and UTP vice-chancellor, Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib. Mohamed Ibrahim said this MOU would enable them to work closely, especially in creating platforms that would enrich students’ learning experience. “Currently, many leading world higher education institutions are pushing for globalised learning exposure to equip students with the necessary understanding and experience to work across borders. “We see this form of collaboration and networking as a vital growth for UTP. Combining our strengths and expertise can propel both institutions to achieve world-class education,” he said in a statement. He also hoped that this collaboration would pave the way to attracting more prospective students from Kazakhstan to study in UTP and Southeast Asian countries, hence strengthening the higher education value proposition, capacity and capabilities in Malaysia. Mohamed Ibrahim said UTP and AOGU had already implemented their partnership with UTP hosting five AOGU students for its Virtual Student Exchange Programme and both institutions were working to develop a few joint academic programmes for joint or dual degrees, as well as a community outreach programme. -- BERNAMA
