Uzbekistan President to visit Kyrgyzstan to participate in Turkic Council in Sept

Bishkek, July 24, 2018 / Kabar /. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev plans to visit Kyrgyzstan in Sept. 2018 to attend the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev and Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a meeting in Cholpon-Ata in the fields of the Consultative Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries. The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to the Republic of Uzbekistan (Dec. 13-14, 2017) and the exchange of visits, in particular the visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of his participation in the Summit of the Cooperation Council for Turkic-speaking states. During the meeting, a constructive discussion of the prospects for building up bilateral cooperation was held, as well as current issues of mutually beneficial Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations in the political, water-energy, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres. During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the whole range of Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as the organization and organization of key events scheduled for 2018. The summit is scheduled for Sept. 3 and will be held in Cholpon-Ata on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. The Turkic Council, which includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, is an international organization uniting modern Turkic states, whose main goal is the development of all-round cooperation between member states. The Turkic Council was established on Oct. 3, 2009.
