Venues designated for sandalwood flower offering
BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) - The committee, in charge of organizing the royal cremation ceremonies of His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, has designated the venues for Thai people to lay sandalwood flowers across the country and overseas.
Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said the committee, organising the royal cremation ceremonies met yesterday. The Interior Ministry will be a coordinator for the ceremonies nationwide. Private sector can also organize the sandalwood flower offering booths but they have to receive the portraits of His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej from the ministry only.
The sandalwood laying ceremonies will be held twice to reduce the crowd congestion on the real cremation day on October 26.
The main royal function at the Sanam Luang ceremonial ground will be reserved for about 7,000 guests to be invited by the Royal Household Bureau and the government.
People will be able to enter northern zone at the National Theater but cannot enter the ceremonial venue.
The details of the cremation ceremony will be discussed at the June 26 meeting to be chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. (TNA)
