Relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are reaching an unprecedented high level. After settling the disputed issues on the border demarcation, the presidents of the two countries actively engaged in the promotion of the economic agenda. Sadyr Zhaparov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev are focusing on the development of comprehensive cooperation, which will serve to increase the well-being of the inhabitants of both republics.

When neighbors live in peace and harmony, it is easier for them to solve any problems affecting common interests - from regional security issues to the implementation of large-scale projects in the field of energy, agriculture, engineering, and so on. Experts focus on the fact that the dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is acquiring the status of a strategic partnership, and the leaders of the countries are determined to develop allied relations. “We have been neighbors for many centuries, and we will always remain so,” this simple truth has become the main one on the track of political cooperation.

By and large, in the course of constant contacts at the highest level and the negotiation process, the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan launched the transformation of the political landscape, which has a positive impact on the entire region. The agreement on the issue of the flow of transboundary rivers allowed Kyrgyzstan to start implementing the project for the construction of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydroelectric power station, and not only Uzbekistan, but also Kazakhstan will take part in its implementation. The capacity of a large hydroelectric station will be sufficient not only to fully cover the needs of the population, but also to create energy-intensive industries in the region, open new plants and factories.

Another joint project is the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. In fact, this is a new “Silk Road”, which will connect the Celestial Empire along the shortest path with ports in the Persian Gulf with further access to European countries. This project is also beneficial for all parties both in terms of integration into the international transportation network and the creation of incentives for the growth of domestic production of products that are in demand in foreign markets.

The plan to build this railroad has been discussingd for more than two decades. But it was only possible to transfer it to the plane of making specific decisions and bring it to the implementation stage when Sadyr Zhaparov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev developed a joint position and agreed it with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other partners in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Another major joint project between Tashkent and Bishkek, the implementation of which will begin in the near future, will be the creation of an automobile plant. An enterprise will appear not far from Bishkek, which produces several brands of well-proven cars. That is, a revival will begin in the real sector of the economy, which we have been waiting for a very long time.

At the same time, the potential of trade, economic and investment cooperation is far from exhausted. Many projects are under discussion or close to approval. The visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Bishkek will have the status of a state visit, that is, having the highest status in diplomatic relations.

As it became known, within the framework of the negotiations between Presidents Sadyr Zhaparov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, 18 documents of great interstate importance will be signed. Another 10 agreements will be concluded between the entrepreneurs of the two countries during the business forum "Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan", which is included in the program of the visit of the distinguished guest from Tashkent.
