Waterfall closed due to forest run-off

PHACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, July 19 (TNA) – The Pala-u waterfall in the southern province of Prachuap Khiri Khan is closed for the safety of tourists following heavy rain on the mountains. Forest run-off, triggered by incessant rainfall on the Tanaosri mountain range flowed into the Pala-u waterfall, turning the water into a raging turbid torrent. Villagers are warned to be prepared for evacuation while local authorities have been monitored the water situation around the clock. Meanwhile, in the North, a massive floodwater in the Yom River, caused by accumulated rain from Talus storm came down from the north to Phichit’s Samngam district, which is also hit by rainfall. About 400 acres of rice paddies, which is about to be harvested later this month has been inundated under almost one metre of water. Farmers decided to harvest their rice before it would be damaged by flood. (TNA)
