Wen to officially visit Thailand on Nov 20-21

BANGKOK, November 14 (TNA) - Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand as the guest of the Thai government from November 20-21, his first official trip to Bangkok. Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, told TNA on Wednesday that she and her Chinese counterpart will discuss issues relating to the comprehensive strategic partnership Thailand and China announced in April 2012, when she visited China, and will also discuss international issues of mutual interest. Then, the Thai premier revealed, she and Wen will witness the signing of agreements on bilateral cooperation between Bangkok and Beijing in several areas, including education and prisoner transfers. The Thai and Chinese premiers will also jointly preside a ceremony to open a Chinese cultural center in Thailand. Besides, Wen will be granted an audience with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and will pay a courtesy call on Chairman of the Privy Council and Statesman General Prem Tinsulanonda. According to the prime minister, the upcoming visit to Thailand by her Chinese counterpart will boost Sino-Thai relations and cooperation in accordance with their announced comprehensive strategic partnership.
