Western Models For Sustainable Peace In World Inefficient: Turkey Instructor

Ankara, April 29, IRNA – Western countries’ models for establishing sustainable peace in the world have proven inefficient, said an Istanbul University instructor. Addressing a regional meeting themed ‘Just Peace, World Joint Discourse’ which kicked off in Istanbul Saturday, Argun Yuldrem added that western doctrines regarding establishing sustainable peace have failed. He also added that the westerners have in the past century tried to create discord among Muslim states but given the wave of Islamic awakening in the region, grounds are prepared for the Islamic Ummah to stand united. That’s the Islamic laws which can help materialize sustainable peace in the world, he noted. The Fourth Regional Conference themed ‘Just Peace, World Joint Discourse’ attended by elites from various countries including Iran opened in Istanbul Saturday. Over 20 elites from Iran, Turkey, Canada, Egypt, Britain and India will discuss various topics such as ‘cultural dialogue for establishing fair peace’, ‘world peace’, ‘arrogance system and soft war’,’ impact of the elites’ coalition on fair peace’, ‘world peace’, ‘international system and fair peace’, ‘Islamic peace and world fair peace’, ‘fair peace and religious democracy’ and ‘role of media in establishing fair peace’. ‘Role of non-governmental organizations (NGO) in establishing fair peace’, ‘threats facing fair peace in the world’, ‘fair peace and Gaza siege’, ‘fair peace and human rights’ and ‘path of fair peace’ are among other subjects to be discussed during the event, which is to end on April 29. Austria, India, Canada and Iran had earlier hosted the event./end
