WTCKL, COIC Shanghai Ink MoU To Enhance Trading Activities

KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Bernama) -- The World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chamber of International Commerce (COIC) Shanghai which will open opportunities for both parties to enhance trading activities on an international scale. The MoU was signed by the Group executive director of WTCKL, Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim and COIC Shanghai chairman, Zhou Minhao on April 13. Meanwhile, Irmohizam said the collaboration will expand both parties' networks and partnerships besides strengthening the position of WTCKL on an international level. "We are expecting trade mission visits to be carried out soon in Malaysia as well as in Shanghai, which will benefit the economies of both countries,” said Irmohizam, who is also the chairman of Asia Pacific Member Advisory Council (Conferences and Exhibitions), World Trade Centres Association (WTCA). “COIC Shanghai will join hands with WTCKL to conduct more cooperative work for better enhancing economic and trade exchanges among enterprises from both countries and play a bigger role for promoting Shanghai-Kuala Lumpur economic and trading ties,” Zhou Minhao was quoted as saying in a statement made available to Bernama by WTCKL on Wednesday. The statement said the collaboration has led to a successful webinar event on Exploring Opportunities at the Port Klang Free Zone which benefited a total of 50 participants from various trading organisations in Malaysia and China. COIC Shanghai is a trading company owned by the Chinese government headquartered in Shanghai which is based on economic and trading activities that has a great coverage and reputation all over the republic. -- BERNAMA
