Yarmag Bridge construction works begin

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The construction works of New Yarmag Bridge and restoration of old Yarmag Bridge in 4th Khoroo, Khan-Uul district were launched on April 3, Monday. Most of the bridges in Ulaanbaatar were built from 1960-1986. “One of the pressing issues in improvement of traffic management in Ulaanbaatar is restoration and expansion of bridges”, remarked Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold during the ground-breaking ceremony. With SRP Engineer Consulting Mongolia LLC as a consultant, China Railway 20 Bureau Group Co.,Ltd will work as a main contractor of the project which is implemented on a soft loan from the People’s Republic of China. Using the Chinese soft loan, 4 more construction projects - Traffic Police pedestrian overpass, 2 new bridges over Tuul River and expansion of road connecting Nalaikh-Choir intersection with Gachuurt junction will be executed. “These projects require fund of USD 132.3 million”, the Mayor said. Also, the capital city budget and capital city road reserve fund will finance 39 projects and measures worth MNT 44.9 billion.
