Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia: Makkah Conference is a Message of Peace against Hatred and Violence among Peoples

Riyadh, August 10, 2023, SPA -- The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Head of the Senior Scholars Council, and Head of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's approval of the Islamic conference titled "Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta and Sheikhdoms in the World", to be held in Makkah from Muharram 26 to 27, 1445 Hijri.
The conference, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, will be attended by 150 scholars, including muftis and heads of Islamic associations and sheikhdoms.
The Grand Mufti stressed that the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to hold this conference is testimony of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's caring for Muslims worldwide and its keenness to spread the peaceful message of Islam.
He added that holding this conference in Makkah at this time of conflicts and hatred is evidence of the Kingdom's message of tolerance, moderation, coexistence and rejection of hatred and violence, stressing the importance of the scholars' role in clarifying the message of Islam according to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.
The Grand Mufti praised the objectives and topics of the conference that will contribute to strengthening unity among Muslims, rejecting extremism and exchanging visions and experiences between scholars and muftis.
Al Al-Sheikh also praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance to spread Islam per the Holy Quran and the Sunnah and to strengthen the bonds of communication between religious affairs departments in various countries, which will be reflected in the advancement of Islamic societies.
