ITC, PwC France and Maghreb Sign Letter of Intent

 
 
Doha, March 06 (QNA) -  PricewaterhouseCoopers - France and the Maghreb (PwC France and Maghreb) together with the International Trade Center (ITC) signed a partnership today to generate wealth and create job opportunities for the youth and women in developing countries through the development of sports as economic sector.
    The partnership letter of intent was signed as part of the activities of the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) currently held in Doha.
    The letter of intent was signed by ITC Executive Director Pamela Coke-Hamilton and Nizar Yaiche, PwC France and Maghreb Global Leadership team Partner, at the end of the session on promoting economic inclusion and entrepreneurial skills for the youth.
    According to both sides, this bilateral cooperation will contribute to achieving sustainable development goals by promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, preparing trained and productive employees, and providing decent work for all.
    This bilateral partnership is based on the notion that sports can be an instrument for social cohesion, sustainable development, peace, women and youth empowering, and promote well-being and education, in addition to both partners' objective of making an economic activity sector of sports, as well as advocating for decent work opportunities for the youth and women, developing technical cooperation projects to be proposed to donors, and exploring opportunities in areas of mutual interest such as migration and gender.
    Coke-Hamilton said that ITC works closely with the youth to enhance their job-related skills, promote entrepreneurship and enable access to financing, together with ITC's commitment to developing sport as a sector, in partnership with PwC, aiming to create more quality jobs and promote entrepreneurship among women and the youth, as well as to promote an inclusive sports ecosystem for development.
    On the other hand, Nizar Yaiche said that the sports industry is diverse and includes any activity that derives income from it, such as media rights, physical fitness, ticketing, hospitality, advertising, sponsorship and others, expressing his pleasure in benefiting from the pace of the sports industry's growth and developing projects for the benefit of the youth and women, in partnership with PwC, including through international sporting events.
    ITC is a joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations that helps small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries and countries with economies in transition become more competitive in global markets, thus contributing to sustainable economic development.
PwC France and Maghreb is a consulting and auditing services company that also provides tax and legal expertise. (QNA)
