Katara, UNESCO Discuss Strengthening Cooperation
Doha, March 07 (QNA) - General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti discussed with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Representative for the Gulf States and Yemen and the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Doha Salah El Din Zaki Khaled and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for African innovation and creation Sidahmed Alphadi, ways to enhance cultural cooperation. During the meeting, they discussed ways to support the joint cultural movement, opportunities for cultural, intellectual and creative exchange, and the development of cultural programs in line with the Katara strategy of seeking to be a meeting place for cultures. The meeting also discussed the possibility of cooperation in organizing a fashion show of Qatari and African traditional costumes that includes clothes, jewelry and embroidery, to be displayed in Katara and in the French capital, Paris, the headquarters of UNESCO, as Katara has become a global beacon that draws the attention of various international bodies and organizations that work in the cultural and humanitarian field to organize and host global cultural and artistic creative experiences. For his part, Alphadi praised the efforts of Katara, expressing UNESCO's desire to cooperate with the Qatari side in the fields of culture, art and education, which embodies the strengthening of ties of rapprochement and communication between peoples to serve cultural issues and human relations.
