KSrelief Delivers 500 Tons of Dates to WFP in Jordan

Riyadh, May 05, 2023, SPA -- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) team delivered today 500 tons of dates to the U.N. World Food Program (WFP) for distribution in all governorates in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, WFP Representative and Regional Director in Jordan Alberto Correa Mendes, and KSrelief Jordan Office Director Nayef bin Saleh Al-Shammari.
WFP signed a memorandum to receive the shipment from the center's team at the headquarters of the WFP warehouses in Jordan in preparation for distributing it to more than 246,000 beneficiaries through the program to Syrian refugees in camps, the neediest Jordanian families and Palestinian refugees in the host community.
Ambassador Al-Sudairi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their outstanding humanitarian efforts to all the needy and affected individuals around the world. Al-Sudairi also extended his thanks and appreciation to KSrelief for its follow-up and direct supervision of the implementation of such humanitarian programs and projects that contribute to alleviating the suffering of the needy.
WFP's Correa Mendes said: "The Kingdom is one of the largest donors to WFP in Jordan"; he expressed his gratitude for this generous contribution.
The delivery of the dates shipment is in line with the programs provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques government to several brotherly and friendly countries to be distributed to the neediest families in different regions of the world.
