CONSTRUCTION OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN DALANZADGAD BEGINS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A launching of Wastewater Treatment Plant construction in Dalanzadgad city of Umnugobi aimag was held today in the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development. Construction of the plant with capacity of processing 3000 cubic meters of water per day will be carried by companies 'N A.B', 'S&A Trade', 'San' and 'Baiguulamj'. The construction is scheduled to complete in 2019 with test runs in first half of 2020. Full-force operation is expected to start in June 2020. Minister of Construction and Urban Development Kh.Badelkhan noted that this project marks the first time Mongolian engineers developed a solution tailored to geographical and weather conditions of the province. He also mentioned that the plant will serve as an example to development of waste water treatment plant in other provinces. “We will construct similar plants in Arvaikheer, Sainshand, Tsetserleg cities. This will decrease negative impact of current plants and has important implications for health of citizens and environment. USD21.17 million in total is planned for the undertaking, 8 percent of which is backed by the Government, while the rest is financed by Asian Development Bank’s loan” O.Onon
