Culture ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Russia discuss plan for Cross Year

Bishkek, Feb.27, 2020./Kabar/. Culture Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Jamankulov and Russia Olga Lyubimova held meeting as part of the opening of the two countries' Cross Year.
Azamat Jamankulov congratulated Lyubimova on her appointment as minister and wished her success in work, particularly in holding the Cross Year, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism reported.
The sides noted the importance of the initiative of two leaders, Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Russia Vladimir Putin, which will give more impetus to mutual cooperation, not only in political and trade and economic, but also in cultural and humanitarian terms.
Besides, Minister Jamankulov said the Kyrgyz side made proposals for cooperation in the field of culture in the plan for the Cross Year, and noted the interest of subordinate institutions of culture and art in cooperation within the plan.
Within the framework of the Cross Year, more than 70 % of activities are related to cultural and humanitarian spheres: Cinema Days in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, commemorative events to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory Day, commemorative events in Moscow to mark the 110th anniversary of Kyrgyz political figure Iskhak Razzakov and the 80th anniversary of Kyrgyz and Russian opera singer, People's Artist of the USSR Bulat Minzhilkiev.
Also, a tour of Kyrgyz theatre groups in Russian cities as part of the Big Tours program, exhibitions of Kyrgyz artists, master classes by famous Russian opera and theatre figures in Kyrgyzstan, a friendly football match between the teams of the two countries.
The opening will take place today at the State Kremlin Palace with the participation of the leaders of the two countries.
